Handles of the Harlem Globetrotters vs. Cam Mcleod
The other other Cam from our basketball team takes on a Harlem Globetrotter on my home court. Kind of wish he played Handles straight up, Cam’s got game.
Damn, here’s hoping these two continue their high level of play deep into the playoffs. There is nothing this post-Olympic city wants more than a classic Hockey riot. Like a happy we just won/let’s flip some cars combo-riot. (Go Canucks Go.)
The above is an artist’s rendering of the bbq/basketball tournament we’re putting together with CiTR and Musicwaste. Mark your calendars for Sunday June 6th. Get at me if you would like to be involved. More details to follow.
"Sure it sounds like a whimsical way to spend your days - calling those pot delivery bike couriers, smoking huge joints on the lanai while snacking on fruit and drinking pitchers of delicious alcoholic punch, wandering around the quaint neighbourhoods of East Van checking out nifty yard sales and artsy festivals, eating at all those neat forward-thinking organic/vegetarian/worker run and owned cafes. Who needs work? Sure sounds like fun eh? Well let me stop you right now because if you continue this way, you’re never gonna be employable again and you’ll end up living in a house painted in wacky colours with anywhere from 5-10 random transients in earth toned, layered clothing sleeping in each corner. They might even invite you to their naked backyard steam parties where a guy who looks like Tom Hanks in Cast Away is throwing dragon sticks around and telling how his rich parents think it’s really weird that he chooses to live in a tree on wreck beach instead of conform to ‘the man’s society’. Get the hell back downtown RIGHT NOW. Who says you can’t still get stoned and stroll down the Drive once in a while?"
I’ve totally avoided making an opinion on the looming Olympics. This isn’t really a serious blog, and I don’t like to get all soapboxy. Also, I really love sports and sports moments but kind of hate all this bullshit. So whatever, this is how I feel: Metals vs. Environments and shit.
