The Cams

This is my basketball team for Waste Jam. We bought XXXL Rocawear shirts from the ghetto fab store in Hellsgate to wear as our uniform. Easily the best $5.99 I have ever spent. We also showed up with a dozen bottles of Gatorade, vicious hangovers, and tummies full of mexican lunch. We did an intimidation Scottish mile around the court and didn’t touch a ball until our first game began. We went 3 for 4 only losing in the semi-finals to a team that was undeniably better than us. Considering we were drinking all afternoon and had at least a burger each around game 3 I’d say we fared pretty well.

Great job, team.

Our buddy Jordan gave WASTE JAM a really nice write-up on my second least favourite local blog. If anyone else has photos from Sunday, email them to me. For the record, the mystery drink is called Jalm Bay and it’s secret recipe consists of Fresca, Fanta, lemonade, and vodka.

Man, today was great. Thanks to everyone who actually turned out and played despite the weather. Congratulations to the winning team, Fast Chais, who won an epic battle in the final game. It looks like we didn’t lose any money, so we’re already planning the next one. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, and who stuck it out through the rain. Who says Vancouver can’t support basketball?

2pm tomorrow, at Strathcona Park. Heres hoping that my clutch threepointers will be the only thing raining down on the competition. Rain or shine, I’ve got a couple boxes of burgers that won’t eat themselves, so bring your appetites.
