This is the building we are working on. About 2/3 done cutting the frame, we will raise it the last week of March. It will be enclosed by carpentry students, wired by the electrician apprentices, and plumbed by plumbing students.
An octagonal timberframe structure employing traditional mortise and tenon joinery. It is approximately 2500 sqft including a full basement, and has 24 000 boardfeet of Doug Fir in the frame and roof alone. It will serve as a Gathering Place for Aboriginal students on the local college campus.
