La Taqueria Taco Shack - 322 W Hastings
My friend Ivan brought me to this newish taco place the other night. We had time to kill before going to see Coco Avant Chanel (which was somewhere between okay and pretty good.)
This place is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The service is fast and on point. The price is pretty okay for a snack, but could start to get expensive if four tacos is insufficient (I needed six, just sayin’.) The menu is simple: tacos and quesadillas, with variations on meats and fillings.
These aren’t shitty tacos either. As best as I could tell, everything was being made to order. Really fresh tasting, simple good tacos. A few salsas to try, all locally sourced organic meat.
A couple patrons were speaking to the dudes behind the bar in Spanish, so thats a good sign. Really small interior, kind of awkward to eat with a group. I recommend trying the mole chicken.
